At around 6:00 p.m., on the 29th of June, a two-vehicle accident occurred injuring both drivers. According to documentation by the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident happened on State Hwy. 2 west of Route Z in Cass County. A vehicle driven by Wayne E. Stewart, 53, of Breckenridge, Mo. was driving westbound in the eastbound lane when he met another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. That vehicle was driven by Christina J. Walton of Urich, Mo. and struck head-on with Stewart, landing in a nearby ditch. Stewart’s vehicle blocked traffic in the roadway until the wreckage was cleared. Walton was life-flighted to Research Medical Center with serious injuries. Stewart’s injuries, being more moderate, were treated at Cass Regional Medical.
